The Open Door, a hunger relief organization, was recently awarded the designation of 2019 Food for All Partner by IN Food Marketing & Design. The Open Door was chosen due to its innovative approach to combatting hunger and will receive half the proceeds from the agency’s 5% give back campaign and $10,000 worth of pro-bono marketing services. The pro-bono services will raise awareness and help expand the organization’s impact in the community.

The Open Door is a tenant in the Cedar Grove Business Center in Eagan (managed by JBL Companies) where it has leased space since 2013. The 4,952 square feet of space enable The Open Door to provide fresh, nutritious food and a variety of resources to the community that include family advocacy and referrals that link families to stabilizing services.

The award winning food shelf also:

• Serves more than 6,000 clients each month
• Distributes 1 million pounds of food annually
• Offers a variety of food, 70% of which is fresh and perishable
• Visits 20+ sites a month as the only mobile food pantry in Dakota County
• Provides 200 Garden to Table plots 
• Manages 5 pop-up produce stands that deliver farm fresh produce
• Feeds 2,000 children each summer through its Mobile Lunch Box
